Blog Love Friday: Deb on the Rocks

deb on the rocksDeb is awesome. She is a mom of two teenage boys and a hilarious writer. I laugh so much I pee at her posts. “Deb vs. Deb: Cage Fight with a Neil Diamond Soundtrack” is one of my recent favorites.

She describes her writing as:

When I write, I work on metabolizing the swirling zeitgeist of this odd world. I get obsessed, stuck like a kayaker wedged in some rocks, and usually somehow I spin myself free, only to land on another pile. I really don’t know what blogging is. But I religiously believe that cluelessness should never stand in our way, and laughter is the only medicine worth smuggling. Well, laughter and opium.

Deb on the Rocks is like a favorite novel. I love to scroll through and re-read past posts. If you’re slotted to travel be sure to read “FAQS About Flying Vibrators & How to Survive a Conference”. Hell, read it even if you are couch surfing. My introduction to Deb on the Rocks was about 2 years ago and I still go back to “Lesbians’ Days are Numbered”.

Humor is only on of Deb’s weapons. She is awealth of knowledge about blogging. This summer, she published 5 ways to blank your blog5 Ways to {blank} Your Blog: Almost everything you need to know about the wild world of personal blogging. It’s a great book for any blogger who wants to kick ass on the internet.

Blogger Deb Rox brings an insider’s look to the crazy world of personal blogging. This unconventional guide gives hundreds of ideas of what to do — and what NOT to do — to rock your blog.

I could go on and on about how beyond fabulousness that is Deb. I was tickled pink when she came to our dinner at Type-A Mom. Unfortunately, my need for oxygen has arrived and I need to pry my inhaler for the grip of the Bear.

Blog Love Friday: Crazy Adventures in Parenting

Lisa Crazy Adventures in ParentingI’m back with a new dose of blog love. This week it’s all for Lisa @crazyadventures. You’ll find her writing about her life as a military wife and mother of six adorable kids at Crazy Adventures in Parenting. Her about page begins:

Super busy mom to six. Army wife & organic nut. Originally from New York, now living in the South. Between the military, the diapers, and teenage hormones, this mommy knows crazy. And coffee.

Lisa’s blog is awesome. She is a quintessential mommyblogger. By that, I mean she writes about her kids all the time. With photos, I love the photos! Her little boy has the biggest blue eyes. I could eat him up. Lisa is such a nice person and we have a lot in common. I am glad I meet her in person at Type-A Mom.

Blog Love Friday: High Impact Mom

High Impact Mom. What an awesome title. The tagline “equipping parents to make an impact on their communities” rocks my socks. Amanda is a spunky chic with a knack for social media. She is the mom of two adorable girls. She describes herself as

“a twenty-seven year old Blog at Home Mom with two beautiful little girls (five and two); I am married to my college sweetheart and PC technician. I’m a closet geek and a part time comedienne. I shop at Walmart, I tan and I’m a Southern girl at heart. I love sweet tea and dark chocolate…oh and quiet.”

Amanda’s post are from the heart. She is a positive-thinker and hard worker. I would have never survived the non-stop motion of Type-A Mom without her help. i am happy to count her as a friend and fellow blogger.

Blog Love Friday: From Stage Dives to Station Wagons by followthatdog

ftdWe met four years ago in Craigslistland.

She has the opposite of my family: two boys in the city. She’s a rocking software nerd and dog lover. Who couldn’t love that in a blogger? Laura tells funny stories about her adventures in motherhood, home renovation and chickens. Yes, I said chickens.

And the woman can cook, she has a food blog on the side. I just realized she’s never cooked for me. We always go out. I’ve used several of her recipes before and can vouch for them. Oh, I forgot to tell you she’s a Seattle-ite. Don’t hold that against her. She’s from San Francisco before here.
