He is coming home after all!

September 26, 2008

Right after I posted about my darling not coming home, he found out they changed plans. He flies in this morning. I am being a mean mommy and sending Fluffy to school. She doesn’t know that Bear is coming with me to the airport. His flight comes in at 10:00. Preschool begins at noon. She lucked out.

I hope he knows better than to expect a Cleaver-clean house. You can walk across the floor in the living room and kitchen without tumbling to your death. That’s as good as it gets in the mamikaze world. Here is his honey-do list:

  • Mow the lawn
  • Take the old veggies to the compost heap
  • Dig the rice cooker pot out of the compost heap
  • Mix the compost heap
  • Dispose of the yellow jackets in the trap
  • Fold the clothes ( I can’t, I have a bad back)

That’s not unreasonable (in my little mind) considering he has been gone for more than two months. While he has been gone I have lost several things of varying importance. I suppose he’ll need to help me locate them:

  • His car keys, the only keys we have for his car
  • My Bluetooth headset
  • My other Bluetooth headset (the one I got to replace the one I lost)
  • The DVD remote
  • Camp Rock DVD
  • Several other DVDs and/or their respective cases
  • A bag of new socks
  • Fluffy’s other glasses

We have to attend a timeshare presentation this afternoon. We are doing it so we can get a free weekend in Canada. There is not a snowball’s chance in hell I would drop twelve thousand bucks for what amounts to four days per year of vacation. Especially when it does not include airfare, alcohol and cabana boys.

On Saturday we are driving to the Portland area to a friend’s wedding reception. Fluffy is excited because she will get to see her boyfriend, Big Dog. Don’t tell Bacon.

Sunday, I plan on running away for the day.

WOO HOO! I am so glad that he is FINALLY COMING HOME!! (Although I won’t really believe it until I see like a video or twitpic or something.) He is going to be so glad to be home and have things to do he won’t care how long the honey do list is. Have fun at the wedding reception, and I won’t tell Bacon what’s up…I’ll distract him with a shiny train or something.

Yay for coming home! And boo for things that get lost. Two bluetooths? Ouch! Been there.

We did a timeshare thing to get a free weekend in the Berkshires. Except for the annoying little presentation (oh God just stop offering me “final” offers. I laughed, LAUGHED at the first one. It’s not happening!), it was great!

I hope there is booze and sex involved in your weekend!!!

For you, not Fluffy, because that would just be sick.

And with your husband, just to be really specific, not the fantasized cabana boys. You can send them MY way.

My hubs came home this weekend too..squeeee! He’s passed out on the couch, snoring. SEXY!
