This game is adorable. My six year-old daughter loves it.
I like it because it combines basic school skills with fun, non-violent games.
The interface is very simple.

Hi! Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Challenge Pros
It begins with Hamtaro in his cage.
You can have him run in the little hamster wheel and feed him seeds.
The goal of the games is skill mastery not first time success. Failure is dealt with gently.
Children are given retries with corrections marked as they go.
There is a unique parent area of the game. The difficultly levels for each game components can be set individually.
Parents can set time limits and monitor their child’s skill progression. When the child achieves goals, parents can award presents.
There is reading involved, so ideally this would be a game for Kindergarten and up. When you check their grades, a prize is awarded
Quote from my first grader: “Hamtaro is cute character. He has lots of friends.
He has a tunnel to get out of his cage.
You walk around the world and meet new friends. You can play games. You can practice writing.”
Hi! Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Challenge Cons
Hamaro doesn’t look like any hamster we have seen. Not that it really matters.
The background music is required to be annoying to parents. No big surprises. No disappointments.
