I am so sick of sitting on the couch. Bear came down with a fever on Thursday and I have been stuck ever since. I try to get up and clean when she gets up but it doesn’t work. Something about my arse leaving the cushion makes her feel clingy all over again.
She as fine Thursday morning. We did her community access time at Target with her orientation and mobility specialist. She di a great job walking around with her aid cane. I admit that I suspected she was having an allergy attack that morning. Red eyes, grumpy wake up but no other symptoms. She drank her Caramel Brulee steamer at Starbucks like everything was good.
She fooled me. When she got off the bus at school that afternoon, her teacher noticed she was not herself. After about 20 minutes of it, she checked Bear’s temp and it was 101.5 (underarm). WTH? I dashed to the school and picked her up. By the time we got home, it was up to 103.9 underarm which equivalent to at least 104.9 oral. I gave her ibuprofen and that didn’t take it down enough. I called the consulting nurse and was instructed to take her to urgent care or ER. Blah.
I knew that urgent care would likely forward us to ER, so I cut to the chase. They were very nice at the ER. She was not showing any signs of infection and she perked up after a dose of tylenol on top of the ibuprofen. We have been doing that every since.
It’s not high enough to warrant a trip to the pediatrician. So, I am stuck here on the couch.
UPDATE: I took her in to the pediatrician on Wednesday night. H1N1 test came back negative but she developed an ear infection over the week.

Oh man! I hope she gets better soon, couching it is no fun…no fun at all. There is only so much Oprah one can watch.
