LeapFrog has done it again! The Tag Reading System is the next step in technology from the popular LeapPad reading system. Tag is similar to LeapPad, touch the pen to the words or pictures and it talks. The books are rich with phonetics, comprehension and problem solving skills activities. When the package arrived, my daughter couldn’t wait to use it. She has been using it everyday since.

The smaller technology makes room for more capabilities. All of the storage is in the pen. No more large book platforms lug around, no cartridges to lose. The carrying case holds five books plus the pen in the space that was one LeapPad. The pen holds the audio for all five books. The audio for other books can be stored on your computer’s hard drive.

As your child reads though the stories and games, rewards are earned. These rewards are collected by syncing he pen to your computer. The rewards are tracked in the LeapFrog Learning Path. This is viewable online and in the LeapFrog Connect Software.

LeapFrog® Tag Reading System Cons

The software installation was a little bumpy. The online to hard drive interface had to be restarted twice before I could completely set up my daughter’s profile. After that, it was smooth sailing.
